The room is rectangular in shape, not much larger than the room you were in, as you enter, to your left there is a mound of bones and skulls that appear to be from an assortment of races and animals. However most of the light comes from a table on your right that is littered with small candles. On the table is a parchment with an illegible scrawl across it, weight down at the corners with an inkpot and a small rock. Scattered around the rest of the table are an assortment of butchers knives, cleavers, axes and saws, many of them already stained with blood. There is also a pile of material, possibly clothing, tucked behind the door. I remind you that you currently have no equipment, no storage and no clothing other than a tunic. And you only have two hands, so unless you can think of a way to carry more items you can only carry 2 things each...

Among the items on the floor you find a thin cloth waistcoat that is large enough to fit around you. On the right side is an empty small pocket designed to hold a pocket watch. There are also assorted sizes of cloth that could be used in some way.

The pieces are too large to weave and you have no suitably sized pieces to use as rope or string.

Could I just hold the largest piece like a sack, tie the ends, and cut a circle hole into my overcoat and take one of the ends of the sack and tie it around the hole?

I'm struggling to picture what you mean, but roll 1d20+dex modifier and I'll decide if you can do anything about it. Additionally, you cannot see anything else in the room that you do not already know about.

Roll(1d20)+2: 18,+2 Total:20 You use one of the knives off the table to slice a long stretch of thin material. You take a square of cloth and fold it in half, piercing a hole through both sides of the cloth and thread the thin stretch of material through all 4 holes and tying it as well as you can. You have successfully crafted a simple cloth handbag. Value 3cp.
You don't know how much weight it will hold before breaking but you are fairly confident.

I will attempt to fill it with at least one type of weapon, and also fold up the note and put it in

I will attempt to fill it with at least one type of weapon, and also fold up the note and put it in I assume you mean at least one of each type of weapon... You place 2 knives, 1 cleaver, an axe and 3 assorted sizes of saws, along with the note in your handbag.
